Removing wall climbing plants
We at MPW Residential Window Cleaners have experienced many unusual requests over the years including the removal of wall plants or climbing plants. Never quite sure of the actual description other than what I've stated.
Quite clearly a lot of people are in a difficult position when it comes to carrying out a task such as this. Either a fear of heights or not having the accessible means to tackle such a problem.
Although as a means of access for cleaning windows at ordinary heights is still carried out by the use of ladders, it will only be a matter of time before this method of access will be fazed out due to Health & Safety regulations but as yet, there is no regulation against using a ladder to access and remove wall climbing plants.
We have removed several dozen over the years and with many excellent results.
I wish to point out that not all wall climbing plants are easily removed and some can prove very difficult, these include the ones that are clinging to uneven stippled render (mostly described as pebble-dash). Simply because the plant embeds itself into the nooks and crannies of the render and proves very hard to prise off.
Any other regular surface, such as brickwork/block-work or wood/upvc is a lot easier and we can generally offer a satisfiable result.
If you would like me to pop around to your property to give advice, a price of removal, or both, please let me know. More than happy to oblige.
